Wireless activity LED in Thinkpad T61
Hmm starting from Gutsy my Wifi LED wont works … now after i read from the ThinkWiki .. what i read from it was The LED is not implemented at least in the IWL4965 driver. How ever, As an alternative, you can install a backported IWL4965 driver that may fix the LED problem on your system.
To active WiFi LED,
sudo apt-get install linux-backports-modules-hardy
Now, my Wifi LED lighted beside the bluetooth icon !!! yeay !!!

This should be of interest to those of you who find this page. I just used
sudo sysctl -w dev.wifi0.softled=1
and it fixed the problem on my atheros card. Also worked in Linux Mint
